Shooting – Seasons & Pricing 2011/2012


Abbey Shoot, Wykeham

Prices will be remaining at the same equivalent level as last year, but with the additional 2.5% VAT (approximetely £1 per bird)

Partridge:

175 to 250 birds @ £32 per bird inclusive of VAT, drinks and lunch. No overage charged.

Availability – Tuesdays and Fridays/Saturdays through September and October.

Pheasant:

Abbey & Ruston (low land) beats:

150 to 200 birds @ £32 per bird inclusive of VAT, drinks and lunch. No overage charged.

Availability – Friday or Saturday through November, December and January.

High Ground; Bedale, Yedmandale & Sawdon Dale beats:

200 to 300 bird days @ £39 per bird inclusive of VAT, drinks and lunch. No overage charged.

Availability – Monday or Tuesday and Thursday through November, December and January, (mixed bag).

Outside/ Boundary Days

100 bird days (all beats) @ £27 per bird inclusive VAT.
Catering available from the Downe Arms.
Dates available on request.


Danby Moors Shoot

Grouse

£160 per brace inclusive of VAT, drinks and lunch.

Availability – Grouse shooting comences in the last week of August through to the end of October. Dates are available on request.

Menus for Danby (Grouse) and Wykeham (Partridge and Pheasant) are as below. Guns are requested to indicate their menu and drink choices at least ten days before their shoot.

WHITE WINES

Vin d’Oc - Domaine de Raissac Chardonnay
A fruity and expressive golden Chardonnay from the south of France. Delicate aromas of apricots and field flowers. The palate is smooth and sensual where passion fruit, mild spices and grilled almond flavours follow each other to perfection.

Bergerac - Chateau Boudigand Blanc Sec
Comte Laurent de Bosredon, the award winning producer of the area, makes a delicious dry white wine from Sauvignon and Sémillon - it is clean and crisp, ideal as an aperitif.

RED WINES

Bergerac Chateau Belingard “Cuvee Alliance”
This is an elegant wine with delightful perfumes. It is handsome, full and warm-hearted.

Coteaux du Languedoc - Château Saint Series “Vieilles Vignes”
Owned by the Roux family, very well-respected Burgundian producers, this is a wine of outstanding quality. It is soft and luscious and the “Old Vines” give great concentration and richness.
